View at Misty Mountains Estate

Going on a tip from fellow Stanford artist Su Wolf, I spent a morning painting at the Misty Mountains Farm Stall. These mountains (the Kleinriviersberge) run from Hermanus to Stanford along the R43 and are a source of consistent inspiration to me. (See Misty Mountains website to see what they do)

The Misty Mountains Farm Stall (and Restaurant in another building facing towards Stanford) is a friendly place with delicious Portuguese food and good coffee.

This painting is one of my Stanford Series of local landscapes painted from life.

Morning light on Overberg mountains is a special type of magic.
